Uniform Regulations

With the exception of the two amendments noted at the bottom of this page, Katana BJJ events follow IBJJF guidelines for uniform requirements.

Katana BJJ Uniform Amendments:

The following rules deviate from the IBJJF uniform requirements and are unique to Katana BJJ tournaments:

1. Athletes competing in male children divisions may also wear a rash guard under their gi.

2. When competing in no-gi, athletes’ rash guards do not have to contain at least 10% of the rank colour (belt) to which the athlete belongs. However, we do prefer athletes wear ranked rash guards, as it makes organizing competitors easier, and facilitates a smooth, efficient tournament.
